Welcome to our Adoption Page!
Here, you’ll meet the rabbits and guinea pigs currently in our care who are searching for loving, permanent homes. Every animal we take in receives a health and behavior assessment, proper nutrition, enrichment, and the time they need to settle and trust again.
Rehoming small animals can take time—sometimes over a year for a rabbit to find the right home—so giving them visibility increases their chances of being seen by the perfect adopter.
Whether you’re here to adopt, or need help rehoming, we’re here to support you and the animals every step of the way.
Browse the profiles below to meet our current adoptable animals, or reach out to inquire about listing your pet
We also recognize that sometimes life changes, and families may need help finding a new home for their pet.
To support responsible rehoming, we offer a community listing service. For a small fee ($25 - which goes directly into our rescue fund to support animals in our care), we will:
List your rabbit or guinea pig on our website,
Share their profile on our social media pages,
Help boost exposure to find the right fit.
🌼 Hazel — Permanent Resident / Sanctuary Bunny
Status: Not available for standard adoption
Special-care home applications considered
Hazel is a beautiful, approximately 5-year-old spayed lop rabbit whose gentle resilience makes everyone fall in love with her. Before she ever came to us, Hazel lost the tips of her ears—likely due to frostbite—yet she never let it dull her spirit.
Hazel originally entered our rescue after her owner passed away. When she arrived, we discovered that she was suffering from a severe dental abscess. With the help of our incredible supporters, Hazel underwent two major surgeries to remove infected teeth, drain abscesses, and relieve ongoing pain. She has handled every procedure with grace and determination.
Despite those surgeries, Hazel’s dental issues are chronic and will be with her for life. Recently, we received a quote of $5,000–$6,000 for a third surgery and CT scan to address new dental concerns. Based on veterinary discussions and the likelihood that she would continue needing repeated surgeries even after this third one, we made the heartbreaking decision not to pursue further invasive treatment. Instead, Hazel will be cared for through medical management, including:
Pain medications, anti-inflammatories and antibiotics as needed
Regular monitoring of her mouth at home (weekly checks)
Ongoing relationship with our rabbit-savvy vet
A hay-based diet with measured pellets and fresh greens
Through this approach, Hazel remains comfortable, happy, and very much herself—enjoying cozy naps, gentle interactions, and her favourite ritual: her tiny morning treat of ½ teaspoon of pellets.
Due to her complex medical needs and the significant ongoing costs of her care, Hazel will stay with us as a permanent sanctuary resident. She is safe, deeply loved, and will remain here for as long as she needs us—which may be for the rest of her life.
That said, if someone with significant rabbit experience and the financial ability to support a high-needs, high-cost rabbit feels called to give Hazel a home, we are open to reviewing applications and discussing her case in depth.
💛 Hazel still needs a community.
If you’d like to support her continued care, contributions help pay for her medications, monitoring, and regular veterinary visits please contact us at reinasrabbits@gmail.com
Hazel may not be looking for a “forever home” anymore—but she has a forever family here, and we’re honoured to be part of her story.
