On check-in day your rabbit will be placed in a clean xpen (5'3x5'3 or 7'10x2'7), and provided with a fresh water bowl and fresh hay. During quiet times in the year, we are happy to provide extra space to your pet at no additional cost, or you can book two pens to ensure they will have more space. The xpen will have a hide spot and a litter box from Litterbuns which allow us to keep an eye on their waste output and your rabbit never has to sit in their poop. The xpen is large enough for even the biggest of rabbits to hop around, binkie, and relax as they please.
Guinea pigs are set up in a large pen with fleece bedding, a hide spot, a kitchen area with fresh hay, and a fresh water bowl. The space can be customized in size depending how many piggies you have, and allows for popcorning space as they get more comfortable.
All animals are kept indoors in a non-smoking, temperature controlled environment. No pet will ever be placed outside unless there is an emergency. Animals are not allowed to come in contact with other guests and dividers are used between pens so that they cannot see or touch each other. Rabbits and guinea pigs are not like dogs, and cannot be placed into big play groups without seriously injuring each other.
Throughout the day your pet will be monitored to make sure they are eating, pooping and generally happy. This allows us to catch any changes early and hopefully avoid any serious situations from happening. Your pet will have lots of attention, cuddles and play times. We work with each pet's unique personality and understand that many do not enjoy being picked up and need their space at times as well.
We can happily feed our home grown hay to your rabbit and guinea pig during their stay. It is a timothy/orchard grass mixture with no acids/preservatives used when being baled. We will need at least 2 days worth of their current hay to switch over to ours with. We can also feed your rabbits our pellet mixture of Martins and Oxbow pellets while they are here. Guinea pigs need to supply their own pellets and vitamin C supplements. If you would rather supply your pet's regular hay and pellets, we will gladly feed those as directed. We feed veggies once or twice a day depending on what your pet is used to.
Pet parents are updated daily on how their pets are doing, usually through Facebook Messenger. All guests will also now receive a FREE nail trim unless requested otherwise.
We do ask that you arrive for drop off and pick up at your scheduled appointment time, as late arrivals affect the care of other guests as well as cut into our family time. We are not always able to reschedule appointment times on the same day, which will result in extra charges.
We look forward to meeting your rabbits and guinea pigs and welcome any questions you may have about our services!
