Welcome to Reina’s Rabbits & Guinea Pig Hotel, where small pets get BIG care!

My name is Ashlea, and I founded Reina’s Rabbits in 2022 with a simple goal: to provide rabbits and guinea pigs with the knowledgeable, attentive care they deserve when their families are away.

What began as a tribute to my beloved rescued Flemish Giant, Bunnykins, has grown into a specialized small-pet boarding business built around experience, compassion and a genuine understanding of these often-misunderstood animals.

Meet Ashlea

Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My love of rabbits began in childhood, when my family adopted two bunnies from friends in Aurora Ontario. Before long, my interest grew into a lifelong passion for learning about their care, behaviour and unique needs.

I went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Guelph, participated in 4-H rabbit activities and gained experience working in both the pet-care industry and veterinary field. Today, I bring more than 30 years of rabbit ownership and small-animal experience to the care I provide.

I understand that rabbits and guinea pigs are not simply small versions of cats and dogs. They have specific nutritional, environmental and behavioural needs, and recognizing subtle changes in their appetite, behaviour and droppings can be important to their well-being.

My goal is to provide care that respects those needs while giving owners greater peace of mind when they cannot be there themselves.

Built on Love, Inspired by Bunnykins

Reina’s Rabbits officially began in 2022 following the loss of Bunnykins, our much-loved rescued Flemish Giant. With a spacious, sunlit area in our home and Marley, our Holland Lop, keeping us company, I began researching how to create a safe, comfortable boarding environment for rabbits and guinea pigs.

What started with a few exercise pens and a big idea has grown into a dedicated small-pet hotel offering boarding, grooming and other services designed specifically for these special animals.

Every improvement we make is guided by the same question: How can we make a guest's stay more comfortable, enriching and stress-free?

A Home Designed for Small Pets

Our resident rabbits, Marley and Cedar, and our rescue guinea pigs, Scribbles and Marshall, are an important part of our family. They remind us every day that every animal has their own personality, preferences and needs.

At Reina’s Rabbits, guests enjoy indoor, temperature-controlled accommodations, individual secure spaces, daily care and monitoring, and opportunities to chew, explore, rest and express their natural behaviours.

We take cleanliness, appropriate nutrition and infection-control practices seriously. We also recognize that every guest is different. Some are curious and outgoing, while others need more time and space to settle in. We strive to respect each animal's individual comfort level throughout their stay.
