Ashlea and her horses
Bunnykins
Reina’s Rabbits began in 2022, inspired by the memory of our beloved rescued Flemish Giant, Bunnykins. After her passing, we found ourselves with a spacious, sunlit area and only our one small Holland Lop, Marley. Recognizing a growing need for high-quality rabbit and guinea pig boarding, we decided to open our doors to others looking for safe, loving care for their pets.
With thoughtful research into successful small animal boarding models (many based overseas), we got to work—investing in spacious X-pens, essential supplies, and launching our first advertisements. From those humble beginnings, our indoor rabbit and guinea pig hotel has grown steadily. What started with the basics has evolved into a peaceful, enriching retreat designed with the comfort, safety, and happiness of our guests in mind.
Ashlea brings a lifetime of experience to Reina’s Rabbits. With a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Guelph and over 30 years of rabbit ownership, she’s spent much of her life learning about and caring for animals. Her journey with rabbits began in childhood when her family adopted a pair of bunnies from friends—soon followed by many more! She joined her local 4H rabbit club, where she raised her cherished New Zealand White, Elmo, sparking a lifelong love of rabbits.
Ashlea’s background includes years in the pet care industry and veterinary field, giving her a solid foundation in animal health, behavior, and sanitation protocols. Her knowledge ensures a clean, calm, and enriching stay for all boarders.
Our bonded resident rabbits, Marley and Cedar, and resident guinea pig, Scribbles - all rescues—enjoy the same high standard of care we offer to all our guests. Our facility is filled with natural light, fresh air, and quiet energy to help rabbits and guinea pigs feel at ease. Each guest can dig, chew, binky/popcorn, explore, and rest in their own spacious, secure area.
Cleanliness and health are top priorities. We follow strict sanitization and infection control protocols to ensure every guest stays safe and happy throughout their visit.
To maintain a peaceful environment for our boarding guests, we do not offer in-person tours when animals are on site. However, we’re more than happy to provide photos and videos of our setup upon request. Drop-offs and pick-ups are handled curbside for a smooth, stress-free transition.
